memorize god’s word
write Galatians 1:3-5
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Genesis 19:14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking. (NKJV)
Lot had lived so long and so content among the ungodly that he had lost his credibility as a witness. He had allowed the culture around him to shape and influence the person he was instead of remaining set apart for God.
INSTEAD OF INFLUENCING HIS CULTURE, HIS CULTURE INFLUENCED HIM.
Lot compromised. We often see compromise as a positive thing, a way to get along with others and remain peaceful; however, when it comes to our faith, compromise is deadly. It chips away at your faith until one day God is having to intervene in a mighty way to get you back on track. Just look at Lot in Genesis 19:16: When Lot still hesitated, the angels seized his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters and rushed them to safety outside of the city, for the Lord was merciful. (NLT) The angels had to drag Lot by the hand to safety. His compromise had worn him down.
Do those who know you see you as a witness for God, or are you just one of the crowd, blending in unnoticed?
To make a difference, you must first decide to be different in both your faith and your conduct. Have you consciously made this choice?
