There are many names for God and knowing and speaking those names is a powerful tool for the believer (especially in prayer). Genesis 16:13 says: “So she called on the name of the Lord who spoke to her, ‘You are the God of seeing.’” El Roi in Hebrew is the name for The God Who Sees Me.
We live in a modern world where being seen and loved by others seems so important. We are flooded with the pressure to be seen on social media, at our workplaces, in our families, etc. But when you realize that the God of all Heaven and Earth sees you, the need for being seen and validated by others fades away.
When you feel unseen or unloved remind yourself that El Roi is the God who sees you, who loves you, who comforts you, and who has compassion on you just like He did with Hagar. He sees YOU!
