In our homework we are asked about the relationship between David, Saul, and Johnathan. I believe these verses definitely portray the love David had for Saul and Johnathan, and the love Jonathan had for David.
David’s trust was in the Lord, which allowed for this pure love to pour forth even while Saul sought to kill him.
