Genesis 37 & 38

I have said from the beginning that the book of Genesis is the book of faith. It truly is, besides the gospels of course, the place that I believe new followers of Christ should start their study on God’s Word. It’s real, it’s raw, and it has some very tough stories. But it displays a certain non-standard, one that says it’s ok to be real. I think most of us can agree that we live in a world that expects us to put on our best for everyone watching, Genesis instead tells us to JUST trust God. Part of me wishes I would have studied Genesis earlier in my walk. But I know without a doubt God’s timing is absolutely perfect and this is exactly when God knew I would need help and a deeper understanding of His provision in my life. -Angie

I found this beautiful walk throughout our journey this far. CHECK THIS OUT!

Enoch shows the walk of faith.

Noah shows the perseverance of faith.

Abraham shows the obedience  of faith.

Isaac shows the power of faith.

Jacob shows the discipline of faith.

And this week we will focus on Joseph (the guy that will be with us for the rest of our time together, can y’all believe we are almost to the end?)

Joseph will show us the triumph of faith.   *courtesy blb-guzik

Take some time and think about each of our characters this far, here’s a few thoughts to help you reflect:

  1. Recognize that faithfulness is an attribute of God. God always keeps His promises.

  2. Look at the list above, each of our characters has strengths and weaknesses. How does that encourage you?

  3. Where has your faith grown this year?

  4. Where do you still need to surrender?

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13

Pray: Thank God for being Faithful. Praise Him for all His goodness and worship Him, for He is worthy! Ask Him to show you where you are lacking faith and trust in your life. Pray that God will  help you to walk, persevere, obey, believe in the power, and be disciplined, in your faith.
