The Family

Genealogies are one part of the Bible that we tend to want to skip over. The names are hard to pronounce and the text is usually repetitive. Over the next two days we will read of the Family of Cain and the Family of Adam. If we skip over these few paragraphs we will miss so much information that points us to the big picture of Scripture.

A genealogy is a line of descent traced continuously from an ancestor. In the Bible genealogy helps point us to the Messiah!

Cain and Seth’s genealogy have some similarities that we should give some attention to. Without close study and observation we can easily be confused and caught up in a case of mistaken identity.
