Write God’s Word
I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
Genesis 9:13
Have you ever been in the waiting on God stage of life? Perhaps you were waiting for a change in jobs, for the right spouse to to come along, or for the blessing of a child. Waiting is never easy.
Yet here in Genesis we see Noah, a man of great faith, not only build an ark to prepare for a flood in a world that had never seen rain, but also WAIT on the Lord to tell him when to come out.
Read Chapter 8 again carefully taking into account the time Noah and company had been on the ark, how long it took the water to subside, and when Noah actually moved. Noah WAITED on God to say Go into the ark (Gen. 7:1) and he WAITED on God to go out of the ark (Gen. 8:16).
Grab your journal: What are you waiting on today? Does Noah’s story of FAITH and obedience encourage you? What can you learn from Noah that will help encourage you in your own waiting stage of life?
