ATTENTION!
There was an error in scheduling this semester.
WE WILL NOT MEET 2/20 DURING SPRING BREAK!
We will pick back up on 3/27 and will cover LESSON 8
All Lessons will be pushed back one week after that and Lesson 10 will be covered on 4/10 alongside our fEaster celebration!
How beautiful that will be examining Matthew 28 regarding the resurrection of Jesus the day after Easter! Thank you Lord for working in our mistakes!

Remember to challenge yourself to read through the entire text FIRST before starting your homework and then again as many times as you can after that throughout the week…maybe instead of a scroll through instagram. ;)

Text “devoted” and “devotedmatthew” to the number 68878 to receive the weekly announcements, praise songs for the upcoming meeting, and links to the previous teachings and answer guides.

This week’s HEAD-HEART-HANDS section is focused around #24 in our workbook take some time to the corresponding read verses, answer the question and reflect on what you wrote.

If you are next up for testimony time in small group, come ready to share how God moved in your heart regarding this section and share the action you took from the “hands” portion below.

HEAD (memory verse):
“Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.” Isaiah 8:12-13

HEART (prayer focus):
Pray for God to focus your heart and mind on the Kingdom of God and not on the things of this world.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal where you are not submitted to His plan as we have been seeing laid out before us in the last few chapters.

We, as Citizens of the Kingdom, should not be alarmed when the world acts like the world nor should be be frightened when all the things Jesus says to expect, happen. We should not be offended. We should not be reactive. We should not dread.

The only fear we should have is the fear of the Lord.

Everything falling down around us should compel us to— pray all the more for the return of Jesus— to ask for more opportunities to share the good news— submit to our own sancitification— and ask for our eyes to be opened to see things for what they are.

HANDS (word in action):
Consider what you can DO in helping bring the Kingdom of Heaven nearer. Who can you love, serve, or honor. Maybe you need to commit to intentionally praying for a certain “worldly” matter at a certain time each day, asking God to come and bring justice and mercy according to His will. AND ask how He wants to USE YOU to bring it about through the means of TRUTH and LOVE.

Recorded teachings and answer guides are accessible after the in-person meeting for this week’s lesson.
