We are covering Matthew 17:24-18:35 this week!
Remember to challenge yourself to read through the entire text FIRST before starting your homework and then again as many times as you can after that throughout the week…maybe instead of a scroll through instagram. ;)

This week’s HEAD-HEART-HANDS section is focused around #17 in our workbook, which is centered around humility”
If you are next up for testimony time in small group, come ready to share how God moved in your heart regarding this section and share the action you took from the “hands” portion below.
HEAD (memory verse):
Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
1 Peter 5:5b
HEART (prayer focus):
This week we are praying in one accord to live with a posture of humilty toward one another, especially those within the body of Christ.
Spend some time in self reflection and examine your thoughts, words and actions from the past few weeks…
How are you doing with humility? How are you “lowering yourself” to love those around you? Are you hustling your way to the top or serving your way to the bottom? Are you meeting people where they are or avoiding them because they aren’t meeting your standards? What kind of example are being to those around you? Are you showing them Jesus?
We have to remember we are ALWAYS leading others whether you realize it or not. So let’s realize it, and lead well, and shepherd those around us into healing, freedom, and hope.
For further reflection and meditation read all of 1 Peter 5 <3
HANDS (word in action):
First- Confess and Repent of whatever pride may be present in you.
Intentionally go out of your way to express humility to those around you(especially those in one of the instances you needed to confess and repent of pride.)
Who needs you to slow down and meet them where they are? Who needs you to sacrifice your time to meet a need they might have, whether it’s a physical need or even a relational one? Who needs more patience and grace from you?
Now how can you act on it? DO IT through the power of the Spirit of God within and not through your own might! (Ephesians 3:14-21)
“Pride is the mother of ALL SINS, and there is a little bit of her DNA in all of us.”
