Pay close attention to the words you filled in and ask yourself these questions:
Who did the Lord address in the verses?
Who does God give a consequence to?
What consequences does God give?
Are the consequences positive or negative?
At the beginning of the week we asked you to take some time and reflect on the provisions God has graciously offered to you. From the beginning of it all God has been providing a way for His people to come to Him and overcome the negative consequences of sin. And from the beginning the devil has been trying to thwart God’s plan and deceive God’s people. Here are a few examples of God’s provisions from our text this week:
God provided a perfect place to dwell for mankind.
God provided a purpose for Adam.
God provided free will as an invitation to true intimacy with Him.
God provided a helper for Adam when He created Eve.
God provided love, grace and mercy after the fall of mankind.
God provided a sacrifice to atone for Adam and Eves sin.
God provided skin to cover their nakedness.
God provided protection by removing Adam and Eve from the garden.
Adam and Eve had a choice. And as God’s people we have a choice too. We can accept God’s perfect plan and provision for our lives, or we can choose the curse.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. Deuteronomy 30:19
