So the Lord God said to the_________.

To the _________He said:

“I will greatly multiply your __________ and your conception; In __________you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

__________ is the ground for your sake; In __________ you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both _________ and ___________ it shall bring forth for you, you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

Pay close attention to the words you filled in and ask yourself these questions:

Who did the Lord address in the verses?

Who does God give a consequence to?

What consequences does God give?

Are the consequences positive or negative?

At the beginning of the week we asked you to take some time and reflect on the provisions God has graciously offered to you. From the beginning of it all God has been providing a way for His people to come to Him and overcome the negative consequences of sin. And from the beginning the devil has been trying to thwart God’s plan and deceive God’s people. Here are a few examples of God’s provisions from our text this week:

God provided a perfect place to dwell for mankind.

God provided a purpose for Adam.

God provided free will as an invitation to true intimacy with Him.

God provided a helper for Adam when He created Eve.

God provided love, grace and mercy after the fall of mankind.

God provided a sacrifice to atone for Adam and Eves sin.

God provided skin to cover their nakedness.

God provided protection by removing Adam and Eve from the garden.

Adam and Eve had a choice. And as God’s people we have a choice too. We can accept God’s perfect plan and provision for our lives, or we can choose the curse.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

Genesis 3:1-7

memory verse
write God’s Word

“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

Genesis 3:15

Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. Full of glory and lacking nothing. Sin enters the picture and the effects are detrimental to mankind. Temptation becomes a battle all of mankind must fight against; But God our faithful Provider blesses His saints with the Holy Spirit, the Word of God and the power of prayer to perfectly equip us for attack. We just have to choose Him and choose life!

Take some time today and read about the weapons God has provided for us to fight against the wiles of the devil.

The Armor Of God

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”

The divine Potter forms man out of the dust of the ground. After skillfully forming Adam, God breathed His breath into him, making him fully alive spiritually and physically. Humans are more than just physical beings, we are clay in the hands of our potter…

Genesis 3:15

Because of only three days in our study, take a moment to work through these questions in your journal.

Praise Him

From the beginning of Creation God has been providing and sustaining the ones He loves.Take some time today to reflect on the things that God has graciously provided you.

Dig deep and praise God for each supernatural provision He has bestowed upon you.

Has He provided you strength to keep going on hard days?

Has He provided you patience to minister to others?

Has God sustained you during a time of financial loss?

Praise Him for providing the ultimate sacrifice Jesus Christ, who died so that you might live! (Genesis 22:14, John 1:29)

Whatever God has provided for you, recognize that ALL things are from Yahweh Yireh, our perfect Provider.
