Find a quiet spot, grab your journal, and listen to the song. Talk to God as you listen to the words of this song. Write down the phrases in the song that resonate with you. Meditate on verses that come to mind as you listen. 

How does the song relate back to Genesis 24? 

Do you believe that when God speaks a Word it will come to pass? Jot down some scriptures that prove this to be true. 

Genesis 24

In Chapter 24 we encounter the most trusted servant in Abraham’s house. Most scholars believe him to be Eliezar from Gen. 15:2. Take a minute to go back there and remind yourself of Elizar’s importance in the story of Abraham. 

Eliezar has the true heart of a servant. Throughout Genesis 24 we see evidence of this, just look at this breakdown taken from the Life Application Study Bible:

Genesis 24:3, 9 The servant accepts the challenge tasked him. 

Genesis 24:5 He examines the alternatives. 

Genesis 24:9 He promises to follow instructions.

Genesis 24:12-14 He prays for guidance. 

Genesis 24:12-14 He made a plan with room for God to operate.

Genesis 24:12-14 He submitted the plan to God. 

Genesis 24:21 He waited and watched closely. 

Genesis 24:26-27 He accepted the answer with thanksgiving.

Genesis 24: 34-49 He explains the situation to the parties involved. 

Genesis 24: 56 He refused unnecessary delay and stuck to his promise. 

Genesis 24:66 He followed through with the entire plan. 

Grab your journal and answer these questions!

Have you ever approached a responsibility with this kind of single-mindedness, careful planning, and ultimately depended on God? 

If not, what can you learn from the servant to help you approach a responsibility in this manner in the future? 

What do you think was the most important aspect of the timeline above?
